Higlights of the year so far:
As the Nike 6.O Media Apprentice, I’ve had one of the best years of my life. I not only got given a top spec digital SLR setup, but also had the complete backing by Nike 6.O on most projects that I conceptualised and wanted to pursue. I have had an overwhelming amount of support that has included professional advice, reviews of my projects and pretty much any passes, tickets or kit that I’ve needed to help me with my progression. Check out below to see how being the Media Apprentice has helped me over the last year…
URBAN GAMES; LONDON
Photography

I worked alongside photographer Paul Bliss throughout the three-day event. I learnt what it was like to work to a brief, while coping with the pressures of working as a press photographer at a high profile competition.
URBAN GAMES; LONDON
Cameraman

While at the Urban Games, I also shot the BMX comp for ‘Freesports on 4!’. I was stoked to have a chance like this and even got a credit when it went out on t.v.
NIKE SPORTS AND STREET CULTURE EXPO; BARCELONA
Cameraman
After the sunburnt three-day weekend on Clapham Common, Nike 6.O sent me to Barcelona for four days. I had the opportunity to meet the key people behind Nike6.0 and NikeSB and shot loads of footage for my short film ‘Evolution’
NASS; NEC ARENA BIRMINGHAM
Photographer
www.nass04.com
Nike 6.O hooked me up with an access all areas press pass and it turned out to be one of my highlights of the year. While shooting the event, I got the chance to meet Tony Hawk and Matt Hoffman…not everyone can say that they’ve met the two biggest influences on Skateboarding and BMX in one day!
BOOMERANG PRODUCTIONS; WALES
Editing Assistant
www.boomerang.co.uk
These guys are behind ‘Freesports on 4!’ and have got so much experience of working in the industry. The highlight was helping out on a voice-over recording session with Christian Stevenson…what a joker!
BOARD MASTERS; GENEX
Cameraman
www.ripcurlboardmasters.com
www.grainmedia.co.uk
I went down to Boadmasters with Grain Media to shoot the Board Masters event for Extreme Channel show ‘Gen-Ex’. I learnt so much over the six days, as the crew were really helpful and I had the chance to do some camera work on their professional equipment. We also went out partying, which was great fun!
JOSH BRYCELAND SHOOT; MANCHESTER
Director / Cameraman
Nike 6.O asked me to shoot ‘A day in the life’ with Nike6.0 Downhill Mountain Biker Josh Bryceland. It was so much fun to film, photograph and hang out with Josh. He’s a super-nice guy who can ride any size bike and shred on it.
BACKYARD JAM; SHEFFIELD
Photographer / Cameraman
My brief was to film and photograph the Nike6.0 team, which was a real challenge as it was my first event brief. After the event I pulled all the assets together and made a short film of the team at the BackYard Jam.
MEDIA APPRENTICE WEBSITE; BULLET CLIP DESIGN
Web Design
www.bulletclip.com
I spent a couple of days with design company Bullet, who do work for Nike 6.O and Document snowboard magazine. I was introduced to the basics of web design and shown how to manage my on-line blog, which is a brilliant way for me to profile my work.
EXTREME SPORTS CHANNEL; LONDON
Editing Assistant
www.extreme.com
I spent two weeks working as an assistant editor at the Extreme Sports Channel, which was such an amazing opportunity. I was editing media that I’d love to work on in the future. It also helped that the editor also rides BMX, so we had loads to talk about!
FINAL CUT PRO COURSE
Nike6.0 paid for me to go on a two day Final Cut Pro course that has really developed what I can create.
URB-ORBIS; LONDON
www.urb-orbis.com
I’ve been in contact with these guys throughout the year and they’ve given me constant support, practical advice, tickets, hook ups…you name it!

The winning edit of the 4Down sponsored rider comp was Sam Bryant. It was shot by Daniel Boiski and me in LDN and Barcelona during spring/ summer 2006. I then edited Sam’s section and entered it into the competition.
Off the back of winning this competition win I was asked to produce some website edits for ‘United Bikes’ and ‘Fit Bikes’. The Fit Bike advert featuring Owain Clegg was posted on the Dig BMX Magazine website. Two of the United Adverts were posted on the United website as well.
I have also been asked to contribute towards the making of “Britlifeâ€, the Fit Bike Co UK team DVD, to be released in Autumn 2007.
